The brief from Carnegie’s International Group was to utilise existing roofs (over the lift lobby and stairwell) of the heritage-listed National Hotel’s rooftop terrace bar, turning them into usable spaces for access by its patrons and hotel guests to enjoy the city views.

Addition and alteration works include a new prefabricated staircase, and steel and glass balustrades mounted to the existing building structure.

Areas of concern include minimal downtime of the hotel’s operations, and target launch of the area in Spring.
